SPC 27 rebuild, Kimberly Clark, Northfleet
In 1992 Kimberly Clark purchased two SPC 27 Supercells from what was then Krofta Engineering UK Ltd. These units have been regularly maintained by KWI over the years and when the time came to replace the original rusted mild steel carriages we were entrusted with the job of repairing these venerable old machines with a view to making them last another 20 years!
New stainless steel carriages were fabricated by KWI International’s Austrian workshop and delivered to site ready for the re-build. All wheel support brackets etc. were left loose so precise measurements could be taken off the existing carriages to ensure a quick and easy replacement.
Each Supercell took one week to complete from shut-down to re-start up. At the same time the opportunity was taken to improve the pressurised water distribution manifold design.
